Il Convegno nazionale della Rete Interdottorato in urbanistica e pianificazione territoriale e ambientale, giunto alla sua ottava edizione, quest’anno raddoppia. Gli incontri saranno scanditi in due tempi e due luoghi: nell’autunno del 2008 Torino sarà sede della prima sessione d’incontri mentre Firenze, nella primavera del 2009, ospiterà la tranche conclusiva.
Si tratterà di una reinterpretazione del format tradizionale del convegno, che traguarderà la tradizionale kermesse di presentazione del proprio percorso di ricerca per andare oltre, associando alla comunicazione e alla discussione dei singoli paper, occasioni di confronto e di lavoro congiunto, con l’obiettivo di costruire e consolidare un approccio nuovo al brainstorming scientifico, più interattivo, più critico.
Torino e Firenze saranno quindi due sedi, due momenti di un unico percorso, con un unico leit motiv: Territori di ricerca, ricerche di territorio.
L’idea di costruire un convegno articolato in due momenti nasce dalla convinzione che in un convegno monolitico la presentazione della propria ricerca e gli interrogativi che sorgono difficilmente trovano spazio per essere sufficientemente discussi e approfonditi. Questo si scontra con la necessità della ricerca di porsi buone domande e trarre beneficio dal confronto e dalla condivisione con gli altri ricercatori.
Da qui la proposta di due appuntamenti strettamente collegati, diretti da un'unica "macchina organizzativa" e da un unico comitato scientifico, costituito dai comitati organizzatori locali e da quanti, all’interno della Rete, intendano prenderne parte.
A Torino, a fine ottobre 2008, verranno presentati i paper, suddivisi in quattro macro-sessioni tematiche (ambiente, città, reti e sviluppo) ricalcando il format tradizionale del convegno. Verranno inoltre introdotte dei gruppi di discussione dai contenuti trasversali e interdisciplinari rispetto alle sessioni tematiche citate, nelle quali le domande-chiave indicate dai partecipanti e scaturite dai percorsi individuali di ricerca opportunamente raggruppate dai discussant verranno messe al centro della discussione.
A Firenze, nell’aprile 2009, quest’approccio si consoliderà e l’incontro sarà organizzato per tavole rotonde parallele, dove a partire dalle domande-chiave e dalle riflessioni critiche sulle rispettive ricerche verranno discussi temi, criticità, questioni e problematiche trasversali alle ricerche presentate a Torino.

The Congress of the Italian network of PhD programmes in urban and spatial planning, that will have this year its 8th edition, this year doubles! The event will be shared in two happenings that will take place in two different locations: in Autumn 2008, Turin will host the first session of meetings and presentations, while the conclusive tranche will take place in Florence in Spring 2009.
The event will be a reinterpretation of the traditional format of the Congress, that aims to overcome the usual kermesse of presentations of the different research experiences associating to the communication and discussion of the single papers several occasions to confront and joint work, that will have the goal to build and consolidate a new approach to scientific brainstorming, more critic and interactive.
Turin and Florence will therefore be two happenings, to moments of a unique iter, jointed by a unique red wire: Territories of research, researches on territory.
The idea to organize an event articulated in two parts come from the believe that in a monolithic congress the presentation of the different contributions and the related doubts and questions hardly find any room for sufficient in-depth discussion. This is clearly clashing with the recognized need of each research process to be questioned by doubts and comments and to find benefit in the proactive confrontation with other researchers.
The above thoughts underpinned our proposal to organize the happenings highly entwined, directed by a single organizing apparatus and scientific committee, constituted by the local organizing groups and by whom, within the network, would like to take part to it.
The Turin event, at the end of October 2008, will host the presentations of the different contributors from the participants, divided into four macro-tracks (namely: environment, city, networks, and development), virtually recalling the traditional format of the congress. There will be also an introduction of discussion focusing on transversal and interdisciplinary themes, whose goal will be to unfold the main key questions indicated by the participants as outcome of their personal research processes.
The described approach will consolidate in Florence, in April 2009, where, starting from the key questions and the outcomes of the critical reflections on the different research perspectives, the above themes and issues will be analyzes and further explored.
